About a month and a half ago, we told you that Bombardier is considering a new assembly plant for their proposed C-Series of airliners in Kansas City, Missouri. And although the state was willing to give them the biggest tax credit in Missouri history to entice the aerospace giant, not everyone from the Show-Me-State is as interested in aiding our neighbors to the North. Here's a anti-Canuck video being aired in Missouri right now by one interest group with a very one-sided approach.

Now they have changed the bill a little bit, people think it is such a better deal. So, hey, it may be a little less risky and maybe we would not lose quite as much...so people say, hey sure, why not? I don't think so! It is still too risky and expensive for Missouri.
Though the deal has changed, I still don't think that a major Canadian Corporation that has a history of reliance on corporate welfare is right for Missouri. At a time when the two major school districts (KC and St. Louis) are failing, medicare recipients have lost support and the economy is in crisis in general, I feel very strongly that tax credits would be better suited to serve individuals and families. This is not in Missouri's best interests. Bombardier has been turned down by New York and other states....MO should wise up..
What should be noted is that while they dropped the credits by $500 million or so, the facility they would be located in would be built on the backs of Kansas City taxpayers~not Bombardier--at a cost of over $300 million. If Bombardier leaves, KC and MO are left w/ the tab!! This deal stinks!!
