Another 757 loses part of its wing

Northwest Airlines became the latest Boeing operator to lose a piece of their airplane while inflight yesterday when one of their 757s had to divert to Las Vegas after a 3 foot by 2 foot wing panel ripped off the aircraft according to a story by Flight International. The flight, with 193 passengers enroute from LA to Detroit, diverted to Vegas as a precaution. And it's a good thing too as the right wing panel ripped off underlying hydraulic lines before hitting the row 28 window then damaging the right side horizontal stabilizer. This, of course, follows a string of Boeings falling to pieces we told you about here at PointNiner that include a US Airways 757 that lost a section of its wing in March, and an American 767 that lost a fuselage panel earlier this month. Mechanics better start stockpiling 100 mph tape.

Lets see where do I start? Are you reporting this or are you bashing Boeing? Sounds like a tad bit like bashing. The Boeing (Not BOEINGS) 757 has been in service for years. Boeing doesn't even make the airplane any longer. This particular airplane has been in service for a long time and as you well know, Boeing is not responsible for maintenance of the aircraft, that is NWAs responsibility. If an airline doesn't perform maintenance or repair something correctly, that is not the fault of Boeing. So far the FAA has not blamed this on faulty manufacturing.
At least pretend to be somewhat objective and report ALL the information and not just the biased bits you pick out of the story.

Dear anonymous,

Let's see, where do I start? First of all this is not CNN.com. It is merely a meaningless blog. At least pretend to know what that means and do not accept everything you see on the internet to be credible journalism. Secondly, I don't see the tilt here. The author has merely pointed out 3 recent events that have all involved Boeing aircraft. Even someone who doesn't know what an irrelevant blog is can tie that one. Thirdly, life is way too short to take yourself as seriously as it sounds you do.

Sincerely,
Anonymous

I have to agree with anonymous #2. Dude, it's a blog. Bloggers are known for slipping in commentary and opinions. If you want objective aviation news, try aviationnow.com.

How about instead of bashing Boeing let's talk about how NWA needs to get rid of all the SCAB mechanics they hired and bring the laid off guys back.... When they had go mechanics they never had all the airplane problems they do now.... And I should have a clue since I used to work for the REDTAIL company.

Unfortunatly, Delta has absorbed this aircraft into its fleet. Along with the Northwest SCAB mechanics. The boeing is just fine, its the scab mechanics that made the news.
